Andrea says, "This number is my Ponte dress. The fire to my wardrobe when I need a quick "dressy" outfit with a simple pair of shoes. What is it about red that takes an outfit up a notch or two? This project is one of many Ponte outfits I've made. A note on the fabric: I was and always have been a fan of the Ponte from Sew Much Fabric. However, this time, I went out on a limb and used it for this very detailed style. I would recommend a good press cloth to get good sharp edges. You might want to consider edgestitching to get the sharp collar and placket. In this version, I did multi-row topstitching at the hem for control. I could have easily done a single catch stitch hem. (There's a tutorial on my YouTube channel.). I felt this style was suited for a little extra control.

The buttonholes were troublesome because of the thickness inherent with the layers in the placket, although I used a stabilizer. So be careful with those areas. Although a little hair pulling was done, I still am happy with the results.
